Our Business
Our company develops recycling business of rare metal centered on metal recycling technology for used rechargeable batteries.
We collect a wide range of used nickel-cadmium batteries, nickel-metal hydride batteries, lithium-ion batteries, industrial alkaline storage batteries, and scrap from these manufacturing processes, and recycle nickel and other rare metals contained in them.
We will contribute to the development of a recycling-oriented society by returning useful metals to society again after safely recycling recyclable batteries, which are becoming key devices in maintaining today’s social infrastructure.
Used rechargeable batteries
Rechargeable batteries are mainly used for the following electrical devices.
Types of rechargeable battery
There are various types of rechargeable batteries and we recycle the following four main types of batteries and waste materials from the manufacturing process.
NiCad battery
Nickel is used for the positive electrode and cadmium is used for the negative electrode. NiCad batteries were mass-produced in Japan in the 1960s and triggered the widespread use of rechargeable batteries in society. Even today, it’s used for power tools and emergency lights, taking advantage of its economy, durability and other features.
Nickel-Metal hydride battery
Nickel is used for the positive electrode, and hydrogen storage alloy is used for the negative electrode. It has a higher energy density than nickel-cadmium batteries. Since it doesn’t use the harmful substance cadmium, it has become widely used in society as the next generation of nickel-cadmium batteries. Even today, it’s widely used in batteries for hybrid cars and electric assist bicycles.
Lithium-Ion battery
Cobalt, nickel, manganese, etc. are used for the positive electrode, and carbon is used for the negative electrode. It has a higher energy density and a lighter weight than nickel-metal hydride batteries. This is the latest rechargeable battery that is being developed even today, and is widely used in portable devices such as smartphones and laptop.
Industrial alkaline storage battery
It’s a type of NiCad battery. Nickel is used for the positive electrode and cadmium is used for the negative electrode. Like NiCad batteries, while it’s economical and durable, it’s large. Therefore, it’s mainly used as auxiliary power supplies for railways and emergency power supplies for buildings.
These rechargeable batteries are reborn as reclaimed metal with using our own equipment. In addition, we conduct daily research and development for the development of a recycling-oriented society, including research and development of new technologies for more effective recycling.
